Keep trying

I am not judged by the number of times I fail, but by the number of times I succeed; and the number of times I succeed is in direct proportion to the number of times I can fail and keep on trying. -- Tom Hopkins

Go beyond yourself

Go beyond yourself, and worry is replaced by compassion and caring, fear is supplanted by confidence, despair is overwhelmed by love. Live beyond the concerns of self, and be astounded at how many limitations are simply no longer there.

Beyond concern for self

Either you can be focused and absorbed and centered on yourself, or you can achieve truly great things. There is no way to do both. For self absorption is nothing other than a blocking out of all the other more positive and more magnificent possibilities. When it's all about you, it's all very small and limited.

What if?

What if you were so accustomed to thinking in terms of lack and limitation, that you were unable to see the magnificent abundance that was all around you? What if every day was beautiful and you did not realize it?

What if you were already well on the way to becoming the person you want to be, and didn't realize it?

What if every problem you encountered, gave you the strength and determination needed to turn it into an opportunity.

What if today were to end before you decided to make the very most of it?

Magical

"You wake up in the morning, and lo! your purse is magically filled with twenty-four hours of the magic tissue of the universe of your life. No one can take it from you. No one receives either more or less than you receive. Waste your infinitely precious commodity as much as you will, and the supply will never be withheld from you. Moreover, you cannot draw on the future. Impossible to get into debt. You can only waste the passing movements. You cannot waste tomorrow. It is kept for you."

A different angle

You can learn many things from those who agree with you. You can often learn even more from those with whom you disagree.

Your own perspective is important, for it enables you to make sense of the world. Always keep in mind, though, that yours is not the only perspective.

You can listen to others, learn from them, and successfully work with them even though you may not agree with them on all issues. If everyone held the exact same opinion on every subject, then knowledge and wisdom would become stagnant and outdated.

Your own perspective will grow stronger and more useful when you regularly allow it to be challenged. When people respectfully agree to disagree, everyone benefits from the diversity of opinion.

Living a life of success and fulfillment does not depend on always proving that you're right and that others are wrong. To make real progress you must let go of the assumption that you already have all the answers.

Stay true to the values you treasure, while thoughtfully considering the different perspectives of others. Look at life from a different angle, and you'll always find new richness.

Game

This life is a game. You can win, or you can lose, and you can play for hours and days and weeks and years, but in the end you will either win, or you will lose. There is no guarantee as to which side the wind will blow and what fate has in store for you. All you have to do is walk the path that you see and ditch torments and fears.

There are no ties, there are no equal forfeits, there is no compromise or gray zone, it's either black or white, top or bottom, there or not. There is always 'or' and there is no definition or scientific code to make you go for the even than the odd. You will just have to keep trying, whether or not you will be surviving.

But here's the secret, the cheat code to the game. Some might think I am just being stupid to not apply it if I know it but this cheat code really needs determination and push, without the real 'want' there is no way I am unlocking all the locks.

You can only loose if you give up. As long as you keep trying, you win. Even if you fail at every turn. Even if you hurt and you cry when you go to sleep at night, and you would rather die than get up in the mornings, if you don't give up, you win. I am the dawn I keep telling me. i will fall when the night breaks but I will rise to a new beginning. The path will lead me astray but I will have to make a vow to fight my way back. I will have to know that thorns will prick me and I will bleed but in the end I will only survive if I am determined to be.

You have to fight to better yourself. Do you think anyone was ever truly better off because they just waited for things to blow over all their lives? Or because they just dealt with their problems silently and acted like they weren't hurting? Living day after painstaking day suffering alone.

Even if you don't give up on life, even if you don't stop playing the game permanently, you can lose. You lose when you abandon. The day, the instant, the moment you begin just moving the pawn and rolling the dice without caring where they land, you've lost.

Don't lose. Don't give up. Even though this game is long, and this game is tiring, it's going to get better. It may have to get worse first. It may not be better tomorrow, or the day after, or the day after that, but you can't let it get to you.

Hold your head up high, and when they try to bring you down, lean back, put on some good music, and roll again.

Be Realistic: There is No Limit to What You Can Do

Sometimes we express a strong desire and the result occurs immediately. We call this a miracle. At other times we strive long and hard without visible progress. The operative word there is "visible". There are too many elements in the world for us to be conscious of how they all interact. But the moment we decide to do what it takes to create a result, the universe bends toward us to assist. This continues unless we do something to stop the process.

That is why I say there is nothing you can't do. There are things that might not be worth doing but almost anything can be done somehow. To do such things requires a certain state of mind. It requires optimism, determination, clarity, love for all mankind and humility. Optimism is the only productive way to think. Not pollyanna blind faith in spite of the facts, just the continuing belief that there is a way and that you will ultimately find it. Determination is to do what is necessary even if it is not convenient, if you are not in the mood, if it takes more than you expected, and if it is not fair, meaning that you have to contribute more than others.
