We all make them. We must make assumptions, on many different levels, just to get through the day. Yet assumptions can be very limiting, when we forget that we're making them.
Making assumptions can hinder communication, such as when you assume someone understands what you're talking about, and they don't. Assumptions can limit creativity, when you dismiss ideas with a hasty "that'll never work."
Here's an assumption that will neutralize assumptions -- assume the preposterous. For example, assume that it would be bad to get more new business, and then look at the reasons why. What you learn might improve your profits.
Remember that behind every judgment you make, there are assumptions. What are yours? The same old assumptions, often lead to the same old results. To break new ground, break free of your old assumptions. Challenge them, flip them around, turn them upside down, and you'll see many new, exciting possibilities.

assumtions are a part of several decisions we make, if the assumptions are wrong, there goes the decisions in a puddle of waste!
every thing in this world is assumption..
what is behing a great discovery, the answer would be a stupid assumption..

I think if life has taught me 1 valuable lesson, it would be that "assumption is the mother of all f*%$-ups". In the work environment, the number of times I have been caught out making an assumption, and then fall flat on my face... well it just is not funny anymore. In life... well, less said the better!
One has to make assumptions at some level, or to some degree while doing anything - it is unavoidable; but you have to make sure that your wall is made up of facts, and the odd crack is covered by an assumption.
Actually we make assumptions every time but we dont realize that we're making them. But there is one key aspect of making assumptions, and that is being hopeful and trusting Allah with the outcomes of our assumptions...
